South Korean ambassador in NC today
Trying to drum up support for the pending Korean free trade agreement.
Some of these free trade agreements were negotiated during the Bush administration, but still haven't seen final approval from Congress.
Should any of them see approval?
Conditions
In any "free" trade agreements, if the labor force country does not abide by the benefitting country(ies) labor laws, we shouldn;t do business with them.
I work as a waiter in NC and waited on two R&D stiffs. When I asked them about the eventual rising standard of the existing labor laws in China, they cavalierly reminded me that the low skill workforce of the African continent hasn' been tapped.
Hopefully, with all the civil unrest occuring in the higher skilled fertile crescent, this gleefully expresses option may at least be off the table for a little while.
What scares me is, if not Africans . . . WHO?
